Full midwifery care from Ōtaki to Pukerua Bay
Kāpiti Midwives offer specialist midwifery care for you and your baby/pēpi throughout pregnancy and up to six weeks following your birth.
Our midwifery practice is based upon continuity of care, the empowerment of women, the provision of safe effective care and the application of knowledge, experience, and evidence-based research. We believe that pregnancy and childbirth are normal life events for most wāhine.
Together our team of friendly midwives support wāhine to give birth at home, Paraparaumu Maternity Unit or Wellington Hospital, and often incorporate cultural, spiritual and complementary practices. If you choose to birth at home, a second Kāpiti midwife will also attend your birth.
Kāpiti Midwives are all Registered with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and are members of the New Zealand College of Midwives whose standards of practice and regular review processes guide the care we provide.
We’d love to meet you!
Come and meet us on the first Wednesday of each month from 10am-11am upstairs in the Wild Wellbeing Studio at 345 Kāpiti Road for a completely no obligation chat.
Here we can get to know each other and answer any questions you may have over a cup of coffee. You’re more than welcome to bring someone with you.
Our philosophy
Kāpiti Midwives has provided midwifery care to women on the Kāpiti Coast since 1992. Our group of dedicated midwives all share the same philosophy surrounding pregnancy, labour and birth.
We believe that pregnancy, labour and childbirth are normal life events for most wāhine. Working together a midwife, woman and whānau shape the midwifery care, often incorporating cultural, spiritual and complementary practices.
We encourage mutual sharing of information and decision-making in order to develop a trusting relationship which will contribute to a positive pregnancy and birth experience.
