What areas do you cover?

We cover the Kapiti Coast, from Te Horo to Pukerua Bay.

Where do we meet for appointments?

We usually prefer to see antenatal women at the Kapiti Health Centre, but home visits can be negotiated.

What happens if my midwife is away or busy with another woman in labour?

There are always at least 2 midwives on call at all times and we provide cover for each other’s clients.

How do I meet the backup midwives?

Our coffee morning is an ideal opportunity for you to informally meet the others in the group.

Do I need to go to the doctor first when I think I’m pregnant?

No.

Does it cost money to have a midwife?

There is no fee if you are a NZ resident or citizen, or have work permits for 2 or more years, or are the partner of a NZ resident or citizen.
